2019 Japanese Food and Ingredients Demand Expansion Seminar & Reception Held in Vietnam

In line with TPP-11 coming into effect and in preparation for expanded exports of Japanese-made agricultural, forestry and fishery products, a seminar and reception were held at the 6th Japan Vietnam Festival with the theme, “Enriching Vietnamese Society with Japanese Food and Ingredients Through TPP-11” in order to widely promote the merits of tariff-free Japan-produced food and ingredients and Japanese food culture to distributors and restaurants in Vietnam.
At the same time, a booth was set up in the Japan Vietnam Festival to inform general consumers of the Japanese Food and Ingredient Supporter Stores Certification scheme.

14:00 to 15:10 Seminar on the utilization of tariff-free Japan-produced food and ingredients brought as TPP-11 enters effect.

Target: Government officials, local restaurant/retail store operators, media, etc.

<Part 2>
15:45 to 17:30 PR Reception promoting tariff-free Japan-produced food and ingredients as TPP-11 enters effect

Target: Government officials, seminar participants, members of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, etc.

(Event Overview)
The seminar was conducted in the form of a lecture on how to fully utilize Japanese-made food and ingredients with pioneering examples and case studies. At the same time, newly-certified Japanese food and ingredient supporter stores were officially unveiled. A business card exchange session was also held, successfully encouraging active interaction between visitors.

The reception facilitated opportunities for deeper interaction between distributors and restaurant operators after the seminar. The buffet cuisine prepared in both Japanese and Western styles also powerfully presented the appealing taste of Japanese food and ingredients to all participants.
Applicants for both events exceeded estimated figures, hinting at high levels of interest in TPP-related information.

To promote the Japanese food and ingredients supporter stores certification scheme, the exhibition booth conducted surveys and interviews, presenting participants with mini-games and novelties and succeeding in spreading awareness to many consumers about the existence of Japanese food and ingredient supporter stores.
