The Secrets of
Japanese Wagyu

Traceability

Government Certification System

Beef produced in one of the world's most stringent quality control systems

Japan attaches great importance to the traceability of beef. Each head of cattle, including Japanese Wagyu, must be assigned a standardised ten-digit individual identification number. The government centrally manages this certification system. This allows consumers to trace where the beef was produced and how it was distributed to give them peace of mind about the meat they eat.

Meanwhile, some producers have veterinarians perform daily health checks. The results, the cattle's growth, and other information are collected in a medical record. That information is linked to the cattle's individual identification number as part of an effort to provide consumers with reassurance and safety. These are the lengths some ranchers go to in order to consistently produce high-quality Japanese Wagyu.

Today, Japanese Wagyu is growing in popularity. This quality control system, one of the world's most stringent, continues to deliver Japanese Wagyu beef to your table.
