Kobataen, an established tea producer started as a tea farmer, dates back to the mid-Edo Era in Ujitawara of Kyoto, the birthplace of Japanese green tea. We have inherited craftsmanship, cultivation expertise, and proven technology to select quality tealeaves. We have many qualified appraisers and instructors with high skills and won a number of world prizes with our prominent inherited techniques to create superior green tea. We started a wholesaler in 1870 and mail-order business in 1920, and was incorporated as a company in 1962.
