Zenri

TAMANOHIKARI SAKE BREWERY

Launched in June 2023 to commemorate Tamanohikari Sake Brewery’s 350th anniversary, Zenri aims to revive interest in sake while honouring Kyoto’s rich sake-making heritage. Its exclusive use of Kyoto-sourced ingredients and the craftsmanship of local brewers accentuate its distinctive flavours. Handcrafted and bottled on the same day, it exudes a freshness and delicacy reminiscent of champagne.

Zenri harnesses Kyoto’s Iwai rice and Fushimi water to unveil fruity undertones delicately balanced with a touch of acidity. This results in an exquisite sake, elegant and invigorating, offering a taste experience as thrilling as it is refined.

About the Sake brewery:

With a history tracing back to 1673 during the Edo period, Tamanohikari stands as one of Kyoto’s most esteemed sake breweries. Embracing simplicity and purity, the brewery firmly believes that crafting sake solely from rice and koji embodies the true essence of sake's flavours. This style was rekindled by Tamanohikari in 1964, a legacy proudly upheld to this day.

Its high-quality sake is the result of selecting only the finest rice and koji and harmonising them with the pristine waters that flow from Momoyama Hills, recognised as one of Japan’s top 100 finest waters. By integrating traditional handcrafted methods with modern techniques, Tamanohikari remains steadfast in crafting delicious and timeless sake.
