CHIYOMUSUBI SHUZO
This sake is crafted using the distinctive and robust Goriki rice varietal, known for its exceptional strength and flavour. On the nose, it offers an enticing blend of chocolate-covered cherries, rich caramel, and subtle earthy notes. The palate is marked by a powerful umami presence, balanced perfectly with just the right amount of acidity. A dry, crisp attack gives way to a lingering, nuanced rice flavour that evolves beautifully with each sip. This sake is a harmonious expression of depth and complexity, ideal for those who appreciate bold, layered tastes and a memorable, full-bodied drinking experience.
About the Sake brewery:
Chiyomusubi Shuzo was established in Sakaiminato, Tottori Prefecture, in the first year of the Keio era during the Edo period. The third-generation owner, Oka Sora Rintaro, advanced brewing techniques at the Ministry of Finance Brewing Research Institute, producing the acclaimed "Yamato Damashii" and "Oka Masamune." The name "Chiyomusubi" reflects the aspiration to bring happiness to future generations. This philosophy, rooted in the belief that quality sake fosters connections and comforts the mind and body, has been passed down through generations. Today, the brewery focuses on reviving the legendary "Kyokuryoku" rice and producing authentic sake that supports local agriculture and community well-being.
